Entries opened for the 110th Miss Gold Coast Show Girl Quest
Entries are now open for the 110th Miss Gold Coast Show Girl Quest; a quest for those who love the Gold Coast and want to be an Ambassador for its largest community event.
The Miss Gold Coast Show Girl Quest is open to all local Gold Coast girls aged 18-26 years old.
Last year’s winner, Kaitlyn Shultz, said representing the Gold Coast Show was an amazing experience and has urged fellow Gold Coast women to get involved and support the iconic event.
“I’ve been given the opportunity to meet such a wide range of people, develop my own personal skills of public speaking and interview etiquette, while also participating in a major community organisation within our region,” Miss Shultz said.
Miss Shultz said all those involved with the Show played an integral part in successfully executing the final product, these people include show volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors and patrons.
“The Gold Coast is a very special place to live, we are so lucky to have the fast paced life of coastal living, but are close enough to keep in touch with our agricultural roots. The Gold Coast Show brings these two sides of our society together,” Miss Shultz said.
Gold Coast Show Manager, Lavinia Rampino, said the Miss Gold Coast Show Girl Quest is a great platform for women with a passionate community spirit.
“It is a great opportunity for young women who want to build their confidence and public profile while supporting their passion,” Ms Rampino said.
Ms Rampino said entrants would enjoy events throughout the Miss Gold Coast Show Girl Quest and will be in the running for over $2500 worth of prizes.
“Our Gold Coast launch will take place during a High Tea in the Sunset Banquet Room of the Hotel Grand Chancellor on July 14, entries will then close on July 28 with the winner crowned in a special ceremony on August 11,” Ms Rampino said.
Ms Rampino said the 2016 Miss Gold Coast Show Girl would also be eligible to enter the South East Queensland Regional Show Girl competition in 2017 and if successful go on to compete for State Miss Show Girl Honours at next year’s Ekka.
“The 2016 Gold Coast Show brought to you by Minc Building Services will be held from August 26 to 28 and women interested in entering the Miss Show Girl Quest can call the Show office on 07 5504 5587 or email [email protected],” Ms Rampino said.
