
Brisbane theatre lovers and VIP Guests who attended the opening of the much awaited musical stage production of Moulin Rouge at Qpac Lyrics theatre last night were given one very special spectacular opening with amazing production value that after the show Global Creatures CEO and Producer of Moulin Rouge, The Musical Carmen Pavlovic gave her speech and shared her excitement of finally being in Brisbane and of what journey it has been. It was then to many surprised guests she welcomed on stage Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin, which raised more applause to having the man himself who started the iconic film who praised the cast and production members and that it was more special as it was the first time he seen the show in Australia as he’s seen it in other parts of world.
But also now with being a resdent of Gold Coast and on the back end of huge success of his latest film Elvis for him and partner Catherine he loves being in this state and it was very special for both of them to see the production in Brisbane and very proud of its global success.
It was high energy night and the mood was set as soon as you walked in to the theatre as to stage design, sets, as some of cast dancers were rovng on stage and from the first song to the very last number you were in Moulin Rouge.
Des Flanagan is the bohemian dreamer Christian, stars opposite the sparkling diamond Alinta Chidzey who plays Satine, Simon Burke AO plays legendary club impresario Harold Zidler and Montmarte’s resident artistes include Ryan Gonzalez as Santiago. The club’s famed entertainers known as the ‘Lady M’s’ will be played by Samantha Dodemaide as Nini, Olivia Vásquez as Arabia,Chaska Halliday as La Chocolat, and Christopher J Scalzo as Babydoll.

Bringing Moulin Rouge! The Musical to the stage was a decade-long journey spanning 3 continents, encompassing 75 songs credited to 165 songwriters, administered by 31 publishers, representing over 160 years of music.
Sadly the Season finishes July 27th 2023 and it will be the hottest ticket in town!
