MUSICSA LAUNCHES THE SCOUTED SESSIONS A NEW CAREER-BUILDING PATHWAY FOR EMERGING SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ARTISTS

MusicSA today announces The Scouted Sessions, a bold reimagining of its long-running Scouted program, transforming the emerging artist showcase into an annual bespoke intensive career development experience for up to 10 emerging South Australian acts.

For more than a decade, Scouted has put emerging South Australian artists on stage in front of national industry audiences at Indie-Con, offering a professional platform unmatched anywhere else in the state. The Scouted Sessions builds on that legacy with the same purpose and a new model: replacing a single night in the spotlight with sustained, bespoke investment in artist’s careers.

Selected by an independent industry panel, each act will initially attend IndieCon Australia 2026 where they will work with MusicSA to identify key industry contacts and facilitate targeted introductions between artists and the interstate and international delegates most relevant to their career goals.

Over the three months that follow, those connections become the foundation for one-on-one mentoring with matched industry experts, and group workshops spanning stagecraft, marketing and PR, touring and showcasing pathways, artist management and deal-making, and export readiness. The intensive program culminates in a co-developed strategic business plan mapping each artist’s next one to three years, built on real career objectives and actionable goals.

The Scouted Sessions is also designed as the first step on a longer pathway, as MusicSA continues to connect artists to bigger opportunities including national performance platforms such as BIGSOUND, and, ultimately, international export activity, all ensuring the artists who come through the program are more ready, more connected and more equipped for a career in the music industry.

MusicSA CEO, Christine Schloithe, said:

“Scouted has given South Australian artists an incredible moment on stage for over a decade, and we’re enormously proud of what it achieved. The Scouted Sessions takes this to the next level. Scouted Sessions isn’t a showcase, it’s sustained investment in artists, their goals and their next steps in a way that creates real career trajectory.”

Supported by the Government of South Australia’s Music Development Office, The Scouted Sessions continues MusicSA’s commitment to building sustainable careers for the state’s next generation of talent, further cementing Adelaide’s reputation as Australia’s only UNESCO City of Music.

Expressions of interest are now open and close 11:59pm ACST, Wednesday 22 July 2026.
