‘TRAPPED FLAME’

Sony Music Entertainment Australia is excited to announce that local Australian duo GEORGIA FAIR will release their highly anticipated new album, TRAPPED FLAME, on October 18th. The album is available to pre order now, with the lead single ‘Love Free Me’ available to download now for free from the band’s official website.
The band are set to embark on a national sold out tour to support fellow Melbourne indie folk band, THE PAPER KITES, which kicks off tonight, Friday August 30th in Newcastle. After showcasing their new material on the world stage at SXSW in Austin Texas earlier this year, the band is excited to introduce Australia to the intricacies and beauty of their forthcoming album.
After recording their 2011 debut album ‘All Through Winter’ in North Carolina with Bill Reynolds (Band Of Horses), GEORGIA FAIR decided to keep it stateside and headed to East West Studios in Los Angeles to work with Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dropkick Murphys).
A major drawcard for working with Ted Hutt was his ability to capture the vocal; “We loved the way he’d mixed the Old Crow Medicine Show record and where he’d placed everything in the mix; nothing was fighting for its place,” explains guitarist Ben Riley. “The thing we particularly like about some of our favourite records is the way they evoke a vision of the artist in the studio laying it down”.
With TRAPPED FLAME, the band wanted to capture a great performance – it had to feel real and of the moment. After arriving at East West Studio in Los Angeles to work with Hutt, they were focussed on bringing the energy and atmosphere of their live show to the recording. The impact was immediate and can be heard to great effect on the first single, ‘Love Me Free’.
TRAPPED FLAME brings together an energy and atmosphere of a live show, oozing soothing vocals, restrained guitar acoustics and a drum beat that can only be described as mesmerising. The album will
be released on October 18th and is available to pre order now. ‘Love Free Me’ is the first single to be taken from the album and is available to download for free from the bands official website.
