Athletic. Electric. Breathtaking.
Internationally acclaimed choreographer, Natalie Weir, and the Expressions Dance Company ensemble of award-winning dancers, take you on a debaucherous journey through the seven deadly sins in this edgy, premiere production, spiced with villainous wit.
Spotlighting the inherent frailty and imperfections that exist in us all, 7 Deadly Sins explores the age-old sinful nature of humankind. Retold through electrifying contemporary dance and characterised by Natalie Weir’s unique insights into the human condition, each of the seven EDC dancers is a specific sin and performs a physical interpretation of that sin.
Plunge into a wicked tale of mortal sin and the modern world with 7 Deadly Sins. Rich imagery, extravagant costumes and breathtaking movement will grip your senses in this devilishly delicious adventure.
Choreographer Natalie Weir talks to The Weekend Edition Gold Coast about the show.
‘It’s a strong contemporary dance work inspired by the themes of seven deadly sins. It’s very physical and really quite beautiful’, tells Natalie.
‘Each of the sins is revealed one at a time until all of the sins are unleashed, a little bit like a Pandora’s box has been opened and we go through a very emotional, physical journey’.
Plunge into a wicked tale of mortal sin and the modern world on Friday 11 or Saturday 12 September at 7.30pm in the Arts Theatre. Tickets are $54.00 for Adults, $47.00 for Concessions, $45.00 for groups of six or more or $30.00 for students. Book at www.theartscentregc.com.au or (07) 5588 4000.
