THIRD SINGLE TO BE LIFTED FROM THEIR #1 ARIA COUNTRY CHART ALBUM ‘THE FAMINE AND THE FEAST’
Sony Music Entertainment Australia is proud to release ‘Parade’, the brand new single from husband and wife duo O’Shea.
It has been an extremely busy few months for O’Shea, with the release of their highly successful radio singles ‘Bad Day Good’ and ‘Here I Am’ along with an Australian tour and hosting Rodeo Houston in Texas (check out O’Shea in action O’Shea). Now Mark and Jay return to the airwaves with their new single ‘Parade’, the third track to be lifted from their latest studio album THE FAMINE AND THE FEAST.
Co-written by Mark, Jay and Nashville hit maker, Shaye Smith, the new O’Shea single is 3 minutes of pure fun. From the New Orleans inspired trumpet part, played by Jack White’s famed side man Kevin Smith, to the infectious acoustic riff, this track is set to be the feel good anthem for 2015.
Inspired by a the Second Line parade tradition of Bourbon Street, where for a small fee one can literally start their own parade, the song’s lyrics cleverly call the listener to ‘get up’ and ‘get yourself moving’.
If you’re not on your feet by the second chorus then the Latin fueled drum solo will certainly do the trick!
“Beat that drum like it owes you money… could be my most profound lyric yet!” laughs Mark.
Whether or not that’s true, this song is music for the hips and is one of O’Shea’s most fun filled tracks to
date.
Accompanying the single release is a special ‘Making of The Famine and The Feast’ film piece featuring behind the scenes footage of track recordings from the album, including interviews with collaborators such as Midnight Oil’s Rob Hirst for the track ‘The Truth Walks Slowly’ and album producer Mark Moffatt.
