CAPTAIN KIRK LEADS THE GALAXY STILL AT OZ COMICON

Brisbane celebrated its very first Oz Comic-Con on Saturday, welcoming guests in their thousands at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

From extravagant gowns to faux metal suits, punters really brought their A game to the event, single-handedly stealing the spotlight away. The amount of effort and time cosplayers put into their work is incredible with fantastic end results. Guests jump at the chance to get a photo with their favourites, and the cosplayers are never afraid to get into character for a pose. The end of the day features the Cosplay Parade, where audiences can see the best dressed up on stage as they battle for the title of best cosplay.
Major pop culture stars such as Orlando Bloom and Jason Momoa, who is known for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, certainly won hearts from the ladies. The appearance of the original Captain Kirk, Mr William Shatner himself was captivating, with guests filling up the seats just to get a glimpse of their lifelong idol.
Exhibitors at the event made the most of the crowds by advertising their wares and offering to test the newest gaming platforms. Competitions to enter and win prizes, freebies and a friendly chat with your favourite artist are just a few of the fun activities visitors can join in to get involved in the Oz Comic-Con experience.
