The industry of journalism and TV will be saddened tonight by the news of long standing  journalist for 50 years,  Peter Harvey who  has died.  He  first  begin with The Daily Telegraph and then with Newsweek and the Guardian, before joining the Nine Network in 1975.

Harvey, who was with the Nine Network for 37 years, died of pancreatic cancer in Sydney on Saturday surrounded by his family. He was 68.

It was revealed in October last year that Harvey had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has  many colleagues who will pay tribute to him  like  Mike Carlton, Peter Overton and Laurie Oakes.  He was known to be generous and he was a real life Journalist.

He will be sadly missed by all means by many and for how he signed off with I am Peter Harvey in Canberra.
