PREMIÈRE OF THIS WIDE NIGHT TRUELY AMAZING THEATRE PERFORMANCES

PREMIERE THIS WIDE NIGHT BY MOVABLE THEATRE

February 19th To March 7th
BACKKDOCK ARTS

Julia Johnson and Shardé Anne are powerful in this Must-See Production!

THIS WIDE NIGHT was written by Chloe Moss in UK Women’s Prison and was on stage in 2008 at Soho Theatre London. The adaptation here that Moveable Theatre took was taken and learned from the Women prison and performed to Support Workers of SerO4’s MARA PROJECT and other SE-QLD Re-Entry Programs.

With most of 40% of Women Released from Prison in Queensland, it is said they will re-offend and return to Incarceration Within Two Years Due to Poverty, Domestic Violence, Homelessness and Social Disconnection.

The performance of the two lead actors Julia Johnson and Shardé Anne are outstanding and give such a raw and gutsy appeal to their roles. It carries well in what has to be such a suitable venue space in BackDock Arts, that gives the audience such an up-close and personal feeling.

This is lead by the direction of Michael Beh with caring insight to work this two-hander and with amazing stage effects of images that back up story of two misfits.

THIS WIDE NIGHT Women’s Prison Project has opened a conversation between Women Inside and Released from Prison and the Wider Community to See the Story behind the Statistics and to help them make the best choices on release from Prison to not return.

This is great theatre and one that gives you engagement to such a powerful story’ to as well as seeing some amazing talent on stage. Moveable Theatre is one to watch
