It’s not just the kids who get to have all the fun. Dream, Wander, Play and Feast your way back to childhood at one of six ticketed events.
Merging whimsical and theatrical styling with sophistication, imaginative food, wine and live music, The Big uTOPia tent will feature five special ticketed events that will add some glitz to the riverside as part of the Rockhampton River Festival from July 15-17.
This year’s theme River Revery encourages festival goers to escape the ordinary, and the line-up of ticketed events is no exception.
The Big uTOPia tent will be an eye-catching structure playing host to aerial acrobatics and performance art alongside theatrical food at events such as the Fairytale Frolic, Saturday Specter and more.
Regional Promotions Manager Sarah Reeves said after the enormous success of 2015, this year’s festival needed to go above and beyond people’s expectations to capture that same magical feel.
“This year we are going the extra mile with the creative, and adding new events including a special children only tea party and a gourmet grazing breakfast on the Sunday.”
Friday and Saturday night events also feature a front row seat to the production of SPECTER – an aerial artistry performance based on a storyline about mystic creatures, entwining theatre, acrobatics, aerial art & dance, showcasing the talent that lies within Rockhampton.
All events will be accompanied by a talented musical line-up, featuring live musicians from across the country as well as local home grown artists.

FAIRYTAIL FROLIC
Celebrate the opening of the festival while relaxing in style. Revisit your childhood with dishes inspired by your favourite fairytales from Lickity Fingers. Get your dancing shoes on with an evening full of food, fun and frivolity with live jazz, blues & funk music. Ticket includes entry to the event, delicious food & a drink on arrival. ALICE IN RIVERLAND TEA PARTY
Enjoy a tea party style event for the kids to get dressed as their favourite mystical character and come along to eat, listen to music and enjoy some different circus style fun through the Mad Hatters Workshop. Ages 6 – 12 years. Tickets $20, 2pm – 3pm Saturday 16th July.
SATURDAY SPECTER
Step inside the Big uTOPia Tent and be dazzled by awesome aerial performers while enjoying an eclectic mix of live music. Sip the Specter signature drink from a tea pot on arrival before dining on a specially themed cocktail menu – served by our fairy friends from Epic! This will be a night to remember. Ticket includes Tea Pot cocktails on arrival, delicious cocktail cuisine by Olive Catering and takeaway adult treats in a special edition River Revery momento cup. Tickets $95, 6pm – late, Saturday 16th July
RIVER RECOVERY BREAKFAST
Relax riverside with a Sunday breakfast grazing table by Olive Catering using fresh local produce along with tea, coffee and juice. Live music and entertainment throughout the morning. Tickets $40 Adults/$20 Children, 9am – 11am, Sunday 17th July
DELIZIES AT PALM COURT
The dazzling Palm Court is famed as the place where the tradition of afternoon tea was born over 150 years. Delizie’s presents a uniquely sophisticated champagne high tea that will dazzle your tastebuds! Tickets $100, 2pm – 5pm, Sunday 17th July.
