Screen Queensland welcomes Christopher Sharp to the position of Director of Development

Screen Queensland announced today the appointment of a new Director of Development, Christopher Sharp.

Christopher comes to Screen Queensland from FilmNation in New York where he worked within Sales and Acquisitions as part of a professional placement under Screen Australia’s Talent Escalator program.

Christopher’s extensive experience in story development will be a huge benefit to the state’s film, television and multi-platform content creators. Prior to FilmNation, Christopher held the role of Development Executive, Features and Professional Development with Screen Australia.

During his time at Screen Australia, Christopher oversaw the development of a diverse slate of over 70 feature films, providing hands-on story development on each project and nurturing new and emerging talent.

Christopher also worked as a script consultant for UK Film Council, Working Title, Ealing Studios, EON and Celador and also as a Development Executive at Material Entertainment (a co-venture between New Line Cinema and Entertainment Film Distributors) based in London.

“Screen Queensland is very excited to welcome someone with Christopher’s knowledge and passion to the Queensland team,” said Tracey Vieira, Screen Queensland CEO.

“Christopher has a well-honed appreciation for Australian stories and an in-depth knowledge of the national and international market, and we look forward to working with him to build and grow Queensland’s screen industry.”

Christopher will be relocating to Brisbane and will commence at Screen Queensland on Monday 22 September 2014.
