A global revolution showcasing the world’s greatest fine art exhibitions, uniquely created for cinema audiences worldwide, is set to hit the big screen, starting with Manet: Portraying Life in April at Event Cinemas Indooroopilly.
Exhibition: Great Art on Screen will offer an unprecedented opportunity for audiences worldwide to experience the finest masterpieces of art from the world’s foremost galleries that otherwise would only be seen locally. The series aims to allow art lovers of all ages to enjoy, marvel, delight and more deeply understand the works of some of history’s most beloved painters.
Featuring major exhibitions from artists such as Manet, Munch and Vermeer, each cinema event will capture and explore these important shows, going behind-the-scenes to bring a wealth of masterpieces to audiences worldwide. Tim Marlow, noted art historian and broadcaster, along with special guests will guide audiences through each exhibition as well as delivering unique insights into the lives and inspirations of the artists.
The series launches in April 2013 with Manet: Portraying Life from the Royal Academy of Arts, London. In July, fans can see Munch 150 from the National Museum & Munch Museum, Oslo and October sees Vermeer & Music: The Art of Love & Leisure from the National Gallery, London.

Beginning Saturday April 27th with Manet: Portraying Life, this is the first ever major exhibition in the UK devoted to the portraiture of Edouard Manet, spanning his entire career. The exhibition will bring together great works from across Europe, Asia and the USA.
