Once upon a time, you’d Google ‘dessert recipes’ and you’d get the standard cakes, puddings, and the odd fancy cupcake. Now, you’re bombarded with weird and wonderful sweet treats.
And it’s not just the recipes. In almost every town, you’ll notice that most restaurants have upped their dessert game and that there are even dessert-only establishments. To take it even further, there are even companies like Deliveroo who’ll deliver desserts straight to your door.

So, to jump on board with the sweet obsession, here are four recipes to help you up your dessert game.

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

It’s hard to think that you could make cookies any better. But wait, what’s that? You can fill them with soft, gooey caramel? Sign us up…

What you’ll need:

• ¾ cup of salted butter
• ½ cup of brown sugar
• ½ cup of sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 1 cup of plain flour
• ½ cup of cocoa
• 1 teaspoon of baking powder
• 1 packet of soft caramels

Peanut Butter Cup Tart

Oh, how we love peanut butter cups. That’s why we were super excited to discover this recipe for a peanut butter cup tart. What’s not to love? It’s one GIANT peanut butter cup!

What you’ll need:

For the base
• 400g of digestive biscuits
• 50g of caster sugar
• 40g of milk powder
• 7g of sea salt
• 110g of unsalted butter
• 110g of cream

For the peanut filling
• ½ cup of smooth peanut butter
• 30g of unsalted butter
• 2 table spoon of light brown sugar
• ½ cup + 2 table spoon of icing sugar

For the chocolate ganache
• 250g of milk chocolate
• 250g of heavy cream
• 1 table spoon of glucose or corn syrup

Vegan Raw Chocolate Mousse

For those of you who fancy something a little healthier, this paleo number is the one for you. Not only is it vegan-friendly but it’s also spot on for anyone avoiding gluten. Plus, it’s chocolate, but healthy. What’s not to love?

• 2 super ripe avocados
• 2 table spoons of pure cocoa powder
• 2 table spoons of pure maple syrup

Warm Apple Cake

Apple pies are so last year, but fruit-based desserts will never go out of fashion. Looking for a different take on the classic pie, it was love at first sight with these warm apple cakes.

What you’ll need:

• 3 cups of all-purpose flour
• 1 cup of granulated sugar
• 1 cup of light brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
• 3 eggs
• 3/4 cup of vegetable oil
• 3/4 cup of sour cream
• 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
