The long anticipated second Sheppard album is slated for 2017, but Queenslanders will get a sneak preview of the single “We Belong” at the Channel NINE Telethon. The Brisbane band has spent this year cooking up the follow-up to their massive global smash ‘Geronimo’.
“Everyone at The Channel NINE Telethon is thrilled to announce that Sheppard have confirmed they will be joining us for a really special performance,” said Telethon Executive Producer Geoff Cooper. “It’s great to have another great Queensland act join an already strong line-up”.
Sheppard have been recording the new album between Brisbane and Los Angeles, working on ‘We Belong’ with long term collaborator, Stuart Stuart. George Sheppard said “this single is a great taste of what’s to come on the new album next year”.
Sheppard are regular visitors to the sick kids at the Lady Cilento Hospital. Band members Amy and George said “We’re very proud to be supporting the Channel Nine Telethon in 2016. Giving back to the community is extremely important to all of us, both as individuals and as a band. We can’t think of an organisation more deserving than the Children’s Hospital Foundation.”
