In an Arts Centre Gold Coast exclusive, Australia’s fastest-rising cabaret star and Channel Nine’s The Voice sensation Naomi Price returns by popular demand with a double-bill of the little red company’s celebrated original pop culture cabarets Wrecking Ball and Rumour Has It.
Both shows having been praised around Australia as must see events due to Naomi Price, the extremely talented and captivating lead actor who has been labelled as the next big thing in Australian Cabaret. Currently starring on Channel Nine’s The Voice, Naomi has been turning heads since breaking through the blind audition stage on the show. Having received shining reviews from judge and Latino pop sensation Ricky Martin, Naomi has also given judges Benji Madden and Jessie J ‘the shivers’ with her recent spine tingling performance. Over 1.6 million Australian’s recently tuned in to watch The Voice, making it the highest placed show in the ratings, trumping Channel Ten’s MasterChef and Seven’s House Rules.
The first of Naomi’s critically acclaimed shows, Wrecking Ball, is based on Miley Cyrus, the debaucherous free spirit of a girl whose name was once synonymous with the character Hannah Montana, a childhood icon of innocence and fun. In stark contrast, Rumour Has It features Price playing Adele, the Grammy Award winning British superstar that has taken the world by storm with her chart topping hits. It is clear that Naomi has spent an inordinate amount of time perfecting both characters, and her dedication has paid off in sell out shows and raving reviews.
Wrecking Ball has been described as surprisingly emotional and compassionate, fuelled by an eclectic musical catalogue of dirty American country, gospel and blues whilst Rumour Has It is set to an incredible soundtrack of Adele’s genre-defying original songs. Big, profound vignettes about great loves lost and found. For both shows, Price is backed by a big band of Australia’s most sought-after musicians, guaranteeing an unforgettable night of world-class entertainment.
Wrecking Ball and Rumour Has It play back-to-back one night only in the Paradise Showroom Saturday 26 September.
