
Jimmy Hannan has died at the age of 84, who was a regular face back in the hey days of TV in the 60’s and 70’s.
His daughter Emily Gillman has spoken to Nine news as to her fathers and said he had a “fantastic life” and he “passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer,” and was surrounded by family.
Born in 1934 and won the 1965 Gold Logie for most popular personality on Australian television.
His pioneering TV show Jimmy was an Australian evening variety series which originally aired in Melbourne in 1966. He was known for national radio and was known as one of the nicest guys on TV and had a great appeal were he performance was made with names like Bobby Limb, Mike Walsh, Bert and Patti Newton, Don Lane, and Jeannie Little.
A private funeral will be held on Friday.
