Through video and painting, Sancintya Mohini Simpson gives place to the narratives of intergenerational trauma and survival of her community, while forging processes of healing and remembrance through her latest exhibition, Bloodlines, which closes this Saturday.
Addressing the unacknowledged history and experiences of women taken as indentured labourers from South India to South Africa, Bloodlines brings a voice to harrowing and hidden experiences.

Pink Ribbon Cup Raceday, back for its 11th year, is the opening event of Aquis Park’s Spring Racing Carnival 2018. The event is expected to attract thousands of race-goers, donning their best pink to raise vital funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
Alongside the live racing action, Pink Ribbon Cup will also have a range of off-track activities on offer, including holding the Lexus Melbourne Cup Trophy for a donation to NBCF, a number of raffles, lucky dips and awards for best dressed.
Chambord Society Spritzer soiree is the entertainment and dining package available for guests, providing a spritzer on arrival, a grazing menu and a full day of racing and live entertainment.

Brisbane Fashion Month presented by Wintergarden returns this October with a line-up of runway and networking events set to be the largest showcase of Queensland designers in the state. A highlight event on this year’s program is a business workshop presented by Australia Post, hosting a panel of industry experts.
In its third year, Brisbane Fashion Month expands to encompass more runway shows, spanning free and ticketed events from October 1-31 and 34 Queensland designers featured on the runway. Featured brands at this year’s festival include Maiocchi, Elka Swim, d+k, and Cue Clothing Australia.

Each October a new royal is crowned, the Brisbane Markets® Annual Charity Mango Auction King or Queen, an annual title bestowed upon the Charity Mango Auction’s highest bidder.
The 2018 title is up for grabs again with the Brisbane Markets® Annual Charity Mango Auction on Thursday, 4 October, where bidders will be asked to dig deep for this season’s symbolic first tray of mangoes and to raise funds for Diabetes Queensland and MND & Me Foundation. Last year’s winning bid came in at $29,000.
