Is it a bird, is it a plane – no it’s the WITCHES from WICKED!
In what can only be described as a truly spectacular entrance the Witches of WICKED Glinda (Suzie Mathers) and Elphaba (Jemma Rix) will arrive by helicopter at Balmoral State High School on Monday 9th February at 11am. Waiting on the school oval to officially welcome them to Brisbane will be over 400 very excited students and of course the one and only Wizard (Simon Gallaher). The Witches (in full stage costumes) will alight from the helicopter in a puff of green smoke ahead of their first performance at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre on February 12 (official opening Sunday 15th Feb) and an exciting return season.
Broadway’s #1 show for an unprecedented ten consecutive years, WICKED has been declared “A Cultural Phenomenon” by Variety and “The Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly.

WICKED Australia Co-Producer John Frost said, “We are thrilled to bring WICKED back to Brisbane as part of the 10th Anniversary tour of this Broadway blockbuster. Brisbane locals and visitors flocked to WICKED during the last season, and the extraordinary advance sales prove they can’t wait to see it again. WICKED is a musical phenomenon; it has been seen by over 40 million people worldwide and regularly grosses in excess of US$1.8 million each week on Broadway. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience”.
