High Tea, Tales & Trailblazers:
Women in Agriculture Take Centre Stage on International Women’s Day at Bacchus Restaurant
Four trailblazing women in agriculture will share their stories at a very special International Women’s Day HIGH TEA at Bacchus Restaurant on Saturday March 8.
Taking centre stage in this inaugural Paddock to Pastries event which aims to spotlight female leaders in agriculture from across the Scenic Rim, Kay Tommerup from the famed sixth generation Tommerup’s Dairy Farm, and also President of Agritourism Queensland, Independent Director and Vice President Queensland Farmers Federation and Board member of eastAUSmilk, the Peak body for dairy industry in Queensland and NSW. Kay is joined by Kathryn Sowter, wine leader at the multi-award-winning Witches Falls Winery, Rachel Watkins of Elderflower Farm, and Tash Johnston founder of Farm Angels.
The event will be a powerful tribute to the resilience, passion, and impact of women in agriculture, raising a cup to the inspiring female powerhouses shaping our farms, our food, and our future. And better yet, a portion of proceeds from the day will be donated back to Farm Angels, who continue supporting Aussie farmers & rural communities.
The High Tea menu has been custom-created by the Bacchus team, and is inspired by, and stars, the finest produce from the Scenic Rim, and includes Witches Falls wine on arrival beverage followed by continuous teas and barista coffee.
